چکیده

We present a particle-based method to simulate and visualize the interaction of knitwear with fluids. The knitwear is modeled using spring-mass systems and the fluid is modeled using the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method. Two-way coupling is achieved by considering surface tension, capillary, and interparticle forces between the fluid and knitwear. The simulation of fluid and knitwear particles is performed on the graphics processing unit. Photorealistic rendering of knitwear and fluid is achieved by using a hardware-accelerated rasterization-based rendering technique. Our method is able to simulate and visualize the macroand microstructure of free-form knitwear and reflective and refractive characteristics of the fluid surface.

A Numerical Simulation Study on the Kinetics of Asphaltene Particle Flocculation in a Two-dimensional Shear Flow

In the current study, the kinetics of asphaltene particle flocculation is investigated under a shear flow through numerical simulation. The discrete element method (DEM) is coupled with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to model the agglomeration and fragmentation processes. In addition, a coalescence model is proposed to consider the attachment of colliding particles. The changes in mean asph...

Lattice numerical simulations of hydraulic fractures interacting with oblique natural interfaces

The hydraulic fracturing propagation is strongly influenced by the existence of natural fractures. This is a very important factor in hydraulic fracturing operations in unconventional reservoirs. Various studies have been done to consider the effect of different parameters such as stress anisotropy, toughness, angle of approach and fluid properties on interaction mechanisms including crossing, ...

مدل‌سازی اجزای محدود برش ماده فولادی با جت آب دارای ذرات برنده

Numerical modeling of machining processes is of significance in the parametric analysis and optimization of their performance. In this paper, a finite element-based model of abrasive waterjet (AWJ) cutting of a ductile material is presented with the help of an explicit, nonlinear finite element method. In this model, both solid-solid interaction and fluid-structure interaction are considered. T...

Lattice Boltzmann simulation of EGM and solid particle trajectory due to conjugate natural convection

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the EGM method and the behavior of a solid particle suspended in a twodimensional rectangular cavity due to conjugate natural convection. A thermal lattice Boltzmann BGK model is implemented to simulate the two dimensional natural convection and the particle phase was modeled using the Lagrangian–Lagrangian approach where the solid particles are treat...
